G-Node Cloud Client

G-Node Cloud (G-Cloud) is a service within the IoT+Plan platform that allows G-Nodes to be accessed over the internet, even if they do not have publicly assigned IP addresses.

Each G-Node establishes a secure, encrypted tunnel to the iotplan.io servers. Clients can then reach a G-Node through a simple URL in the format gnode-<serial_number>.iotplan.io over HTTPS. This ensures secure communication between clients and the G-Node. For enhanced security, there is also an option to generate a long, unique URL for accessing the G-Node.

The G-Node Cloud Client is enabled by default but can be disabled in the G-Node settings. However, please note that disabling it will result in the loss of access to your G-Node via iotplan.io! To re-enable this feature, you will need access the G-Node through the local network to which it is connected.

Steps to setup G-Cloud Client

NOTE: The G-Cloud Client is available only on physical G-Nodes (G-Node-P).

To enable or disable the G-Node Cloud Client, navigate to Settings -> G-Cloud:

The connection status of the G-Node Cloud Client can be checked on the status page:

To access the G-Node via iotplan.io, use a URL in the following format:

https://gnode-<serial_number>.iotplan.io

Replace <serial_number> with the actual serial number of your G-Node. The serial number is printed on the G-Node itself and can also be found in the top-right corner of the G-Node GUI.
